- First World Ranking Tournament Hosted by the World Park Golf Federation
- Historic Tee-Off at Chongming Island International Course
- More Than Just Competition: Ecological Island, Shanghai Cultural Heritage, and Huangpu River Night Cruise
- A Global Park Golf Festival Created Together by 250 Amateur Players Over Five Days
The 1st World Park Golf Masters Cup (World Ranking Tournament), hosted by the World Park Golf Federation (WPGA) and organized by the China Park Golf Association, will be held from July 14 to July 15, 2026, at the Mingzhu Lake National Park Golf Course in Shanghai, China.
As the first historic stage declaring the globalization of park golf, this tournament combines substantial prize awards totaling KRW 32.14 million (KRW 23.4 million in cash prizes and KRW 8.74 million in prizes and gifts) with premium sightseeing experiences in Shanghai, attracting significant interest from park golf enthusiasts nationwide.
World-Class Ecological Paradise: Mingzhu Lake and Its Prestigious 63-Hole Course
The tournament venue, Mingzhu Lake National Park on Chongming Island, Shanghai, is a world-renowned eco-tourism destination featuring vast forests, wetlands, and pristine natural landscapes. Within this national park lies a magnificent 63-hole park golf complex, considered a dream destination for park golf enthusiasts worldwide.
For this tournament, 36 of the most scenic and challenging holes have been selected.
The competition will be conducted as an individual stroke-play event for men and women, with four players per group. To ensure fairness and efficient play, a shotgun start format will be used, allowing all participants to begin simultaneously from designated holes.
In the event of a tie for championship positions or special awards, winners will be determined through a thrilling Sudden Death Near-Pin Playoff on a hole designated by the Tournament Committee.
A Global Festival for Amateur Players Only
One of the tournament's most attractive features is its commitment to being a festival centered entirely on amateur park golfers.
To ensure competitive fairness, participation is strictly restricted to amateur players. Members of corporate or municipal professional teams and officially registered professional park golfers are not eligible to compete.
Any Korean citizen aged 20 or older, with no restrictions on overseas travel and a passion for park golf, may participate and proudly represent Korea on the international stage.
The tournament will accommodate approximately 300 participants, including 250 players and 50 officials and referees. To ensure fair officiating, 18 referees will be stationed throughout the course, and only officially approved equipment may be used during competition.
Prize Awards Through 50th Place and Premium Shanghai Tour Program
The prize structure has been carefully designed to distribute benefits broadly among participants rather than concentrating rewards solely among top finishers.
For both Men's and Women's Divisions:
Champion: KRW 5,000,000 cash prize, premium park golf club worth approximately KRW 2,390,000, and trophy
Runner-up: KRW 2,500,000 cash prize and premium prize package
Third Place: KRW 1,500,000 cash prize and premium prize package
In addition, cash prizes and special awards are distributed through 50th place, significantly increasing winning opportunities for participants.
Special Awards:
Hole-in-One Award: KRW 300,000 cash prize plus premium golf club
Albatross Award: KRW 300,000 cash prize plus premium golf club
More Than a Tournament: A Complete Healing Journey
The tournament combines park golf with premium travel experiences.
For a land package fee of KRW 1.3 million (excluding approximately KRW 620,000 round-trip airfare and a USD 50 guide gratuity), participants will receive:
Accommodation at the five-star Chongming State Guest Hotel
Dedicated transportation
Meals throughout the entire itinerary
Participants will enjoy not only competitive play but also the natural beauty and cultural attractions of Chongming Island and Shanghai.
Highlights include:
Visit to China's largest saffron cultivation base
Tour of the Former Site of the Korean Provisional Government in Shanghai
Exploration of Yu Garden and the historic Yuyuan Old Street
Evening cruise on the Huangpu River featuring spectacular views of the Oriental Pearl Tower and The Bund skyline
This event is not merely a golf tournament but a comprehensive international exchange program combining sports, history, culture, and tourism.
Most importantly, participants will carry with them the unique distinction of being among the founding members of the inaugural World Ranking Tournament, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The World Park Golf Federation plans to use this tournament as a catalyst for expanding international park golf exchanges and building a global network for the sport.
The first step of Korean park golf onto the world stage begins in July 2026 on Shanghai's Chongming Island.
