Tournament

World Park Golf Federation (WPGF) Competition Rules

Purpose

These regulations are established to define the standards, responsibilities, and compliance requirements for organizers, players, referees, and participants involved in tournaments hosted or supervised by the World Park Golf Federation.

These rules apply to international competitions including:

  • World Championships

  • Asian Championships

  • European Championships

  • Latin America Championships

  • Southeast Asia Championships

  • Northeast Asia Championships

  • Americas Championships

Participation standards for each event (such as minimum number of countries or players) are determined separately.

Types & Scale of Events

  • World Championship: Minimum 15 countries / 60 players

  • Regional Championships: Minimum participation requirements determined by each continental federation

Courses & Equipment

  • World Championships: Standard 36-hole course

  • Regional Tournaments: Certified 27 holes or more

  • Only approved clubs, balls, and official equipment may be used.

Safety Measures

  • Safety nets, warning signs, and directional notices required

  • Pre-event safety briefing mandatory

  • Medical support systems recommended when necessary

Entry Fees

Tournament committees may collect participation fees based on event operations.

Regional Events & Eligibility

  • National or regional tournaments must be reported to WPGF headquarters in advance.

  • Only officially registered members may participate.

Scope of Application

Summary of Competition Rules

Tee Shot & Play

  • Ball placed outside tee line: 2-stroke penalty

  • Miss swing on tee shot: No penalty

  • Addressed but failed contact: 2-stroke penalty

Stationary Ball Violations

  • Improving grass/rough

  • Moving fixed obstacles

  • Breaking branches

2-stroke penalty

Moving Ball

  • Hits another player’s ball: No penalty

  • Hits own body: 2-stroke penalty

Wrong Ball Played

  • Striking another player’s ball: 2-stroke penalty

Marking Ball

  • No marking request on tee shot

  • Allowed from second shot onward

Bunker Rules

  • Smoothing sand before shot: 2-stroke penalty

  • Hitting sand only (miss ball): +1 stroke

Obstacles

  • Remove movable objects (stones, leaves): No penalty

  • Remove fixed obstacles: 2-stroke penalty

Lost Ball / Out of Bounds

  • Lost Ball: 2-stroke penalty

  • OB Ball: 2-stroke penalty, replay within two club lengths from exit point

Unplayable Lie

  • Player may declare unplayable and place ball at nearest playable point.

Green Rules

  • Improving putting line: 2-stroke penalty

  • Removing flagstick and holing out improperly: 2-stroke penalty

  • Tee order decided by draw or rock-paper-scissors

  • First stroke must be played from rubber tee

  • Farthest ball from cup plays first

  • Scores recorded after completion of each hole

  • OB and lost balls incur 2 additional strokes
